The pair soon find out that these issues are caused by one thing: Knull, the god of the symbiotes, has awakened, and he's coming to destroy Earth (or something) with the help of a fucking dragon. The Venom symbiote's psyche is shattered, as it begins hallucinating strange visions and going completely berserk in combat situations. What better way to celebrate such a momentous occasion than to see where it all began?Įddie Brock is no stranger to symbiote troubles, but his latest dilemma is nothing short of terrifying. The reason I picked this book out for this week is due to the upcoming release of King in Black (which, if I recall, comes out tomorrow as of this writing), Marvel's latest, Venom-centric crossover event. I did eventually get a chance to read a few single issues from the series (some of which I did get to talk about in a couple of Five Comics blog entries), but this is my first time reading the entirety of Vol. I followed this run of Venom somewhat closely since it first started, as I learned it introduced some groundbreaking revelations about the symbiote mythos.
